Mechanisms
of Intervention
PAP is implementing its activities through two interventions which use two
specific financial mechanisms in order to reach its respective objectives.
The
Social Oriented Component aims at tackling specific
assessed poverty situations and at increasing the revenue of
low-income families through the access
to informal credit. The Program has herefore activated a Revolving Fund,
which is implemented through the support of local grass-root associations
called Community Development Associations (CDAs).
The objectives of the Revolving Fund are to provide credits to low income
families, to provide them with training and follow up and to provide to the
general capacity building of the CDAs.
The
Market Oriented Component aims at promoting and
developing micro
enterprises through a Guarantee Fund that provides credits to
Micro-enterpreneurs, contributing thereby to reinforce economic growth and
to create new job opportunities.
